Game Description

Zatre consists of a board and dozens of cream-coloured tiles with 1 to 6 dots on each tile. The tiles are placed in a supplied bag and on a player's turn he draws two of the tiles and places them on the board. The idea is to create rows and columns that add up to 10, 11 or 12. Once a row/column totals 12 then the row/column is complete.

Using the supplied score pads, bonuses are earned for each total of 10, 11 or 12. Also, bonuses are earned by covering certain squares on the board, similar to Scrabble.

Zatre is a pure abstract that is good for practising mental arithmetic, is quick to play, but has little scope for long-term strategic play as the tile draws are random - it's all about maximising your score on your turn rather than maneuvering for future big scores.
